One day, a curious boy went to a wise old man and asked, “What is the most valuable thing in life?”
The old man calmly replied, “The most valuable thing in life is time.”
The boy frowned and said, “Time? Not money, fame, or power?”
The old man laughed and said, “No, because you can earn money, you can gain fame, you can also gain power. But time? Once it’s gone, it never comes back.”
The boy thought, then said, “But can’t money buy time?”
The old man laughed even more. “You can buy a watch with money, but not time. And if you could buy time, it would have no value if you didn’t have the wisdom to use it properly.”
“Then how do I make the most of my time?” the boy asked.
The old man paused and said, “The key to using time properly is to use it in a way that positively impacts the people and the world around you. Go beyond your own interests and help others. Learn something that will enrich you. Pursue your passions and dreams. And always remember, every moment is a gift. Don’t waste it.”
The boy thought deeply. “How can time be seen as a gift?”
The old man said, “Every sunrise is a new opportunity, every day is a page in your Amal Nama. How you write it is up to you. If you can enjoy the small moments of life, if you do something for others, then every day will become special to you.”
From that day on, the boy learned to see his time in a new light. He started spending each day as if it were the best day of his life. He stood by people, learned something new, moved forward to fulfill his dreams.
At the end of the year, the old man looked at him and said, “Look, the way you use your time is what makes your life story special. Keep it up. Because life is truly beautiful, if we can use it properly.”
Every moment of yours is precious. Spend it on things that fill your heart and soul, and make the world a better place. The right use of time is what makes life meaningful.
