Each web browser has its own shortcuts, but some browsers intentionally keep some shortcuts the same. Among them, Google Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer, Opera Mini and some other browsers have similar common shortcuts which you can know through this post.

Shortcuts to the browser's tab method

When many tabs are open in our web browser, we click with the help of mouse to go to these tabs, but we can go to any tabs by command Ctrl+Number. For example-


Ctrl+1 = If you press it, you can go to the tab that will be in the number one position.

Ctrl+2 = If you press it, you can go to the tab that will be in the second number position. In this way, if you command the number 1 to 8, you can go to the various websites opened on the website.

Ctrl+9 = Press to go back to the last tab you were on.

Press Ctrl+T = A new tab will open.

 

Common browser shortcuts


Press Ctrl+N = a new browser window will open.

Pressing Alt+F4 = closes the browser immediately.


Ctrl+Left Click = The link will open in background new tab.

Shift+Left Click = The link will open in a new browser window.

Ctrl+Shift+Left Click = will open the link in foreground tab.

 

Browser navigation shortcuts


Alt+Left Arrow, Backspace = Click to go back

Alt+Right Arrow or Shift+Backspace = This command can be used to move from previous page to next page. (click to go forward)


Escape = To open a page that is loading, you can press Escape to stop loading.

F5 = Used to reload the page.

Alt+Home = Home page can be opened.

 

Browser zoom shortcut


Ctrl and + or Ctrl and mouse wheel up = zoom in.

Ctrl and – or Ctrl and mouse wheel scroll down = zoom out.

Ctrl+0 = Page will return to default zoom setting.

F11 = Used to turn on fullscreen mode.

 

Browser scrolling shortcut


Up arrow = will scroll the page up or up.

Use Space or Down Arrow = to scroll down the page.

Home = will take you to the top of the page.

End = Goes to the bottom of the page.

Middle Click = to scroll with mouse.

 

Browser address bar shortcut


Ctrl+L, Alt+D, F6 = move the mouse cursor to the address bar or focus the address bar to type something.

Ctrl+Enter = After entering only the name of a website in the address bar, this command is followed by www. And then the website is opened with .com added.

 

Browser search shortcut


Ctrl+K, Ctrl+E = Search within the search engine If the built-in search box in the browser is focused to type anything. And if the built-in doesn't have a separate search box, it will focus on the address bar to type something.

Ctrl+F, F3 = If you want to search something on the page you are in the browser, then the search box can be brought to search through this command.


Alt+Enter = This command is used to open search results in another tab while in the search box before opening it.

 

Browser History and Bookmarks Shortcuts


Ctrl+J = Download history will open in browser.

Ctrl+H = Open work history in browser.

Ctrl+D = This command while on any webpage will open the option to bookmark the page so that you can bookmark and save the page.

Ctrl+Shift+Del = Clear browser history window will open.

 

Other Browser Shortcut Features


Ctrl+P = This command while on any page will bring up the option to print the page.

Ctrl+O = This is the option to open any file in the browser from the computer.

Ctrl+S = option to save any webpage will appear.

Ctrl+U = This is the option to open the source code of the webpage. (except Internet Explorer)

F12 = Open the browser's developer tools. (Except Firefox)
