Bitcoin enters the Guinness Book of World Records as the 'First Decentralized Cryptocurrency'

Bitcoin, Satoshi Nakamoto's cryptocurrency and blockchain network, has received numerous accolades over the years, and both traditional and mainstream media have acknowledged it. For instance, the word "bitcoin" was added to the Merriam-Webster Unabridged Dictionary in 2016 and entered the Scrabble vocabulary two years later.Since bitcoin is regarded as the "first decentralized cryptocurrency," Satoshi Nakamoto's invention has received recognition from Guinness World Records (GWR) this year.



For the past 67 years, Guinness World Records has officially recorded records for both extreme natural events and human accomplishments. According to the records, the first edition of Guinness World Records was the best-selling book in December 1955. There is still a significant catalog and verification of world records associated with a variety of acts and record-breaking accomplishments in the book. Sir Hugh Beaver, the managing director of Guinness Brewery, was the original inspiration for the concept of publishing records in a book.
