He has suggested that we need to look beyond the average to affect the factors affecting the use of substances in this population. But there is a difference between the sub-groups of youth who identify as sexual minorities. Its sexual minority is the umbrella term for those who identify any sexual identity other than heterosexual, or who report similar sex attraction or this behavior, for the purposes of the study, the researchers focused on youth who are gay and is known as gay or bisexual. ![]( This is Dermody studies risky behaviors such as alcohol and its nicotine use with the goal of better understanding factors that it’s contribute to the substances use and how best to intervene when the use is problematic. Dermody said that this inequality can be particularly due to stress based on sexual exploitation, violence and exploitation in their sexual minority situation. The study was conducted to understand the risks associated with poly substance use, or the use of three or more types of drugs, among sexual minority youth.
