This is a UNDP Green Commodities program; they have a worker education program and agricultural technology that protects the environment. Thanks to a project supported by the United Nations Development Program, Costa Rica has played a leading role in promoting the socially conscious production of pineapple while protecting the environment. The Central American country is the world leader in growing fruit, which is more than 800 million US dollars a year of business. In a new approach to some gardens, it has adopted social and responsible practices, which includes equal pay of men and women.
