I’m still in shock after what happened yesterday in the ongoing Uefa nation league, is it a dream I keep asking myself, how did it happen? When will football stop making a fool of us the analyst? Because that was exactly what happened yesterday.
Who would ever believe that Austria would beat Croatia yesterday believe me or not I wasn’t surprised about Netherlands winning too but kudos to Denmark again. Now let me give you a summary of what happened in the matches I mentioned above, stay with me
Croatia vs Austria
After the 2018 World Cup, Croatia thought of reshaping their team which is a good idea but you don’t just throw all players away at once, the first 11 that played yesterday against Austria are all new players in the team excerpt from brozovic, Kovacic, why being in Modric as a substituted that is another big question, what happened to Perisic? Where is Rakitic, Rebic? All 4 defenders that played in the 2018 World Cup where are they? I’m not against grooming young players but you don’t just throw all old away at once and bring in new players. Which was exactly what caused their problem.
Arnautovic, Gregoritsch and Sabitzer were all scoresheets yesterday as win 0-3 in their first leg against Croatia. It’s a big win for the Austrian team and also a big win for their new coach Ragnick. They sit first on their table with 5 matches left to play.
France vs Denmark
Considering the number of good players France has on their football team I still see no reason why Denmark should even stand a slight chance of getting a draw. These players in their first 11 lineups yesterday are all top players in their respective clubs. Denmark team has also been something to talk about since their beautiful display in the Euro 2020 after losing to England in the semi-final. Since then we have seen nothing but a superb performance from the Denmark team which they showed yesterday again in France with all three goals scored in the match came in the second half of the game.
Karin Benzema scored the first and only goal for France in the match and it took Cornelius 17 minutes before he could give his side an equalizer, The 29 years old Trabzonspor player didn’t stop until he gave his side the winning goal 88 minutes before the end of the match.
Even when you take a closer look at the stat of the match you would see France didn’t play anything special than the Denmark team. Kudos to them for winning against the reigning champions of the tournament.
Well the league is just starting and France and Croatia lost both their opening match at home, they still have 5 more matches to redeem themself which is also the same for Denmark and Austria too. Their next match will be France vs Croatia and Denmark vs Austria on Monday.
That’s all on League A, Group 1 of the Uefa Nation league. don’t forget to always come back for more sport news
