Focus on Your Strengths- Take the Path of Least Resistance and Maximum Effort

 "Your talent is God's gift to you. What you do with it is your gift back to God." -Leo Buscaglia Every human has been endowed by our creator with strengths and weaknesses. Our instincts may lead us to focus on improving our weak areas, but the best path is to focus on our strengths. Society has been pushing people to be "well-rounded" and diversified in our skills. While it is true that certain skills must be developed, other natural-born skills we have should be developed above all the rest. If you have a talent, be it writing, athletics, trading, programming or sales it is in your best interest to develop it to the fullest. Our individual gifts and talents make the world a better place. A boy with skill in chemistry who develops his gift could create agricultural or water-purification technology that could save millions of lives. A child with programming skills could develop an application that connects people and increases our quality of life. Children develop signifigantly over their first seven years, and during this time their individual talents become evident. As a parent, it is your job to guide your child to their strengths and enroll them in development activities. Make sure to also encourage your child to develop their interpersonal skills as well as any specific technical skills they are proficient in. Their gift could be society's benfit given by God.
