Cristiano Ronaldo came off the bench in the first half as Manchester United beat Everton 2-1 on Sunday and did his best to score.
No. 7 was an early start at Goodison Park with Anthony Martial's injury immediately creating defensive problems for Everton's intellectual movement and willingness to switch. Both teams were level at 1-1 when Ronaldo came on, and Ronaldo showed once again that he could make the difference by latching onto Casemiro's attacking ball before bringing down Jordan Pickford before half-time.
The goal was decisive as Erik ten Haag's side saw out the rest of the game, securing three important points en route to the competition. But for Ronaldo, his finish added another tribute to his already impressive CV. It was his 700th goal for the club. Following another remarkable achievement, Cristiano thanked those who have supported him over the years on Twitter.

Ronaldo's club and national team-mate Bruno Fernandez said how happy he was to see Liverpool finish 7th after another great individual performance. Meanwhile, Marcus Rashford congratulated Ronaldo on Twitter after the full-time whistle.
