Court on Monday September 19 sentenced Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, the kidnapper and his co-defendant Victor Aduba to 21 years

Judge Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offenses Court on Monday September 19 sentenced Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, aka Evans, the kidnapper and his co-defendant Victor Aduba to 21 years in prison for kidnapping a certain Sylvanus Ahanonu Hafia and US$420,000 for ransom his family had cashed in.

They were accused of conspiring and kidnapping Hafia at around 5:30pm on June 23, 2014 at Kara Street, Amuwo Odofin in Lagos.


They are said to have arrested the victim and demanded a ransom of $2 million as a condition of his release


They pleaded not guilty to the four charges, but the judge found them guilty.

The judge ruled that the verdict would serve as a deterrent to other aspiring kidnappers.
