R. Kelly was found guilty of the s3x crimes, including creating images of s3x child abuse and coercing minors into s3x acts.
On Wednesday, September 14, the 12-person jury at the trial convicted Mr Kelly on six of the 13 charges against him.
He was found guilty of forcing three minors into criminal sexual activity and producing three child sexual abuse videos, which prosecutors said all involved the same 14-year-old girl.
R. Kelly was cleared of attempting to obstruct an earlier investigation into his abuse. The jury also found him not guilty of obtaining images of child sexual abuse and conspiring to obtain such images as part of an alleged plan to recover missing videotapes.
His two co-defendants, associates Derrel McDavid and Milton Brown, were found not guilty of all charges. The jury acquitted McDavid, a longtime Kelly manager who was accused of conspiring with Kelly to rig the 2008 trial. Brown, a longtime Kelly associate, was cleared of receiving child porn images.
R. Kelly, 55, was previously sentenced to 30 years in prison in June 2022 after a Brooklyn jury charged him with racketeering and S3x trafficking.
As a result of this verdict, he was only released when he was about 80 years old.
June's conviction marks the first time R. Kelly has been held criminally responsible for allegations of sexual abuse, although the allegations date back more than three decades.
Wednesday's sentencing in Chicago could add years to that sentence.
