The moon of the holy month of Muharram was not seen in the sky of Bangladesh on Monday. As a result, the counting of the holy month of Muharram will start from next Wednesday. According to him, holy Ashura will be celebrated all over the country on August 20 (Friday). The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee at the Baitul Mukarram meeting room of the Islamic Foundation this evening. Secretary of the Ministry of Religious Affairs. According to a press release issued by the Islamic Foundation, the meeting reviewed information received from all district administrations, Islamic Foundation head offices, divisional and district offices, Bangladesh Meteorological Department and space research and remote sensing institutes about the sighting of the moon in the holy month of Muharram 1443 AH.  It can be seen that today 29 Zilhaj 1442 AH, 25 Shravan 1428 BS, 9 August 2021 AD.  No news of the holy month of Muharram was seen anywhere in the sky of Bangladesh on Monday evening.

Tomorrow 27 Shravan 1428 BS, 10 August 2021 AD.  Tuesday will be the 30th day of the holy month of Muharram.  In this situation, the next 26 Shravan 1428 BS, 11 August 2021 AD.  The counting of the holy month of Muharram will start from Wednesday.  In this context, the next 10 Muharram 1443 AH, 5 Bhadra 1428 BS, 20 August 2021 AD.  Holy Ashura will be celebrated on Friday.

Ashura is a public holiday in Bangladesh on the 10th of Muharram.  On this day, Hazrat Imam Husain, the grandson of the Holy Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), was martyred in the desert of Karbala on the banks of the Euphrates River.  Since then, the tragic events of Karbala have been celebrated in the Muslim world as a symbol of abandonment and mourning.
