FIFA, the highest governing body of international football, has announced the preliminary list for the XI of the Year.  The list was published on Monday.  It includes Messi, Neymar, Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Karim Benzema among others.  Ninety Minutes.com reported the information.

 According to reports, both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo have been shortlisted for this year's FIFAPro World XI.  They have been in the final eleven in each of the last 15 years since 2007.

 Alongside Messi and Ronaldo, the list of forwards includes Kylian Mbappe, Erling Haaland, Karim Benzema, Neymar and Robert Lewandowski.  Messi is considered the favorite to win this year's Ballon d'Or thanks to his all-time great performances for Argentina after winning the World Cup in Qatar.

 On the other hand, Portugal captain Cristiano Ronaldo would have deleted the year 2022 from his career if he could.  Because he had a nightmare time at Manchester United.  Not only the club, but also the national team was completely unsuccessful.  Couldn't do anything in the World Cup either.  However, he is right in the FIFPro World XI.  But there is no name of Vinicius Jr. who has established himself as one of the best footballers in the world.
