The Best XI of 2022 has been selected by the International Football Federation's History and Statistics Division (IFFHS) based on last year's performance. The XI is arranged taking into account national and club football performances throughout the year.

Despite being in great form, Brazil's poster boy Neymar Jr. did not get a place in the XI. There is no place for Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, who recently joined Saudi club Al Nasser.
But it is a surprise that World Cup Golden Gloves winner Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez and World Cup young player Enzo Fernandez also did not get a place in this eleven.
Belgium goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, who helped Real Madrid win a record 14th Champions League, has been named in the IFFHS announced XI.
Morocco and PSG's Ashraf Hakimi, Croatia and Leipzig's Jasco Givardiol, Netherlands and Liverpool's Virgil van Dijk and Canada's and Bayern Munich's Alphonso Davies have got a place in defense.
The midfield has been entrusted to Luka Modric of Croatia and Real Madrid, Kevin De Bruyne of Belgium and Manchester City and Lionel Messi of Argentina and PSG.
Kylian Mbappe of France and PSG, Karim Benzema of France and Real Madrid and Arling Haaland of Norway and Manchester City have got a place in the attacking division.
