It is the era of science and teachnology, human beings have achieved perfection of highest level. It is said that Islam confronts scientific knowledge, students of Islamic institutes are considered as orthodox. But the reality is that, it doesn't oppose dissemination of knowledge, Islam is established upon knowledge as in the first revelation Allah says اقرا باسم ربک الذی خلق ، خلق : الإنسان من علق ، إقرا وربك الأكرم ، الذي علم بالقلم ، علم الإنسان مالم يعلم “ [ سوره علق ] .These verses of the Holy Quran contain the whole teachings and scientific knowledge is also enclosed in it, Allah also invites people in the Quran to consider and research the heavens, earth, mountains, stars, plants, seeds, animals, change of night and day, rain, creation of human and many other creatures, Allah says in the Quran: " إن فـى خـلـق : السـمـاوات والأرض واختـلاف الـيـل والنهـار لآيات لأولى الألباب ، الذين يذكرون الله قياما وقـعـودا وعـلـى جـنـوبـهـم ويـتـفكرون في خلق السـمـاوات والأرض ربـنـا ما خلقت هذا باطلا سبحانک فقنا عذاب النار ‘ ‘ [ سوره آل عمران : ۱۹۰-۱۹۱ ] ." How can it be contradictory in science and Islam? while Islam itself is encouraging! Islamic knowledge is integral and science is part of them only, conflicts in ingredient and integral are impossible. The circle of science depends on observational and experimental knowledge , while religion is related to moral , spritual and meta - physical affairs . Now we mention three main arguments regadrding non - conflict in religion and science . 1 - The difference in base : The main reason for non - conflict in religion and science is that both the foundations are different , indeed , the subject of science is " Knowledge " , while the subject of religion is " Faith " science is found to be mistakes , but all progress of science is based on the long struggle of the trial and error . On the other hand , religion is based on belife , so there is no possibility of error . 2 - The difference in circle of work : The second major reason for not getting any kind of contradication in religion and science is to be different in its circle of work , due to which there is no possibility of any collision in both of them , because science is related to the physical world , while religion is related to meta - physical world, in other words, it can be understood as well that science discusses to the Nature, while discussion of religion is from supernatural world. 3-The difference of trial snd error: Religion is completely free of trial and error, because it belongs to the knowledge given by Allah Almighty, that is the ultimate, crucial and non-variable and there is no possiblity of error, while all investigations of scientific knowledge are according to the trial and error. Religion also provides information about meta-physical as well as other universal facts, in which light we can use this universe better for ourselves under scientific knowledge in the Quran Allah says: " وسخر لكم ما في السماوات ومافي الأرض ميـعـامـنـه إن في ذلك لأيـات لـقـوم " يتفكرون ‘ ‘ [ جـائيـه : ۱۳ ] "He has subjected whatever is in heaven and on the earth to you, it is all from Him, in that are signs for those who ponder". As far as religion is concerned, it informed us about the fact that the universe is scattered and it has been subjected for human being and now it is himan's work that they bring every item of the universe better for human welfare through scientific knowledge. Dr. Maurice Bucaille says in his book "The Quran and modern science". There is, perhapes no better illustration of the close links between Islam and science than Prophet Mohammad's{ often quoted statements: -
"Seeking knowledge is compulsory on every Muslim".
"Wisdom is the lost property of the believer".
Whoever follows a path seeking knowledge, Allah will make His path to paradise easy". According to the famous physicist and noble prize winner, Albert Einstein"Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind". Zaghloul El-Nagger says: "There is no conflict between Islam and science, science is inquisition, it is running after the unknown, Islam encourages seeking knowledge, it is considered an act of worship, what people call the scientifice method, he explains, is really the Islamic method: all the wealth of knowledge in the world has actually emanated from Muslim civilization. Prophet Mohammad{} said to seek knowledge from cradle to the grave. The very first verse came down: Read You are required to try to know something about your creator through meditation, analysis, experimentation and observation. So, through this whole discussion we conclude that science and Islam are not conflicting each other anywhere and in any level.
