O-Level in Pakistan

O-levels is a secondary level degree that is associated with the University of Cambridge. The duration of O-levels in PAKISTAN is 3 years we can say that it is from grade 9 to grade 11. Exams of O-levels are held twice a year May/June and October/November. English, Urdu, Islamiyat, Pakistan Studies, and Math are compulsory subjects with three elective subjects which are Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Computer science. For science students physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Computers are compulsory to pass. O-Level is conceptual based instead of reading certain books, instructors give a broad view about every topic and asked students for critical thinking. In O-levels student collects data from various resources i.e google, read different books and articles for knowledge and give their opinion in front of the whole class and that thing give them more confidence. A wide range of training and support resources is available. They suit a variety of teaching methods and contexts. Different types of assessments and assignments take place at the end of the course it may be written, oral, and practical. The only language which is being used in O-Levels is English. Instructors teach in English and asked students to reply in English and talk to each other in English that's why students of O-level have a wider view of everything and good command of English. Instructors teach students about subject content,  intellectual inquiry, flexibility and responsiveness to change, and also about cultural awareness. O-Level is globally recognized and students can get admission in any institute easily throughout the world because of their massive skills and advance knowledge with great writing and speaking skills. Past papers and marking scheme is available on Cambridge O level subjects page.  But the worst thing in o-levels is it is expensive and a minimum monthly fee is Rs.15000 which is not affordable for everyone in Pakistan.  

Exams of O-level:

Due to covid-19, there is no examination of O-level held in 2020. But the institutes of O-level gave marks according to their participation and previous performance, Cambridge calculated grades based on candidate data provided by centers and on the center's record of exam grades. And gave awards to those students who have 1st two-position or highest marks.

But in 2021 when O-level exams started, corona cases begin to rise and the government of Pakistan postponed the O-level exams at that moment.  But on 27th May 2021 Federal education minister Shafqat Mehmood declared the news of  O-level exams which he called special exams that will be held from 26th July to 6th August. And A-level classes will begin in September. Maybe this date will further change according to the covid situation and maybe the exams will cancel because of protest of students about canceling the exams because they say they want justices, they don't have enough preparation to sit in exams and also not mentally prepared for exams. As we all know health is wealth and for the examination, it is compulsory to strictly follow SOPs and everything will be all right.
