Tigers lose Test match at home against Zimbabwe. Nazmul Hossain Shanto's team lost the first of the two-match Test series by 3 wickets.

Bangladesh won the toss and elected to bat in the first innings at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, but due to the failure of the top order batsmen, Bangladesh were all out for 191 runs. Mominul Haque Sourav top-scored 56 runs for the team in the first innings. Captain Shanto scored 40 runs.

In reply, Zimbabwe scored 273 runs. Sean Williams scored 59 runs for the team. Opener Brian Bennett scored 57 runs. Mehedi Hasan Miraj took 5 wickets for the Bangladesh team.

Bangladesh, trailing by 80 runs, were all out for 255 runs in the second innings. Captain Shanto scored 60 runs for the team. Zaker Ali scored 58 runs. Former captain Mominul Haque Sourav scored 47 runs.

Chasing a target of 174 runs, Zimbabwe reached the port of victory with 3 wickets in hand in the late afternoon of the fourth day.

All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraj could not avoid defeat despite taking 10 wickets in both innings. Miraj, who took 5 wickets for 52 runs in the first innings, took 5 wickets for 50 runs in the second innings.
