Expressing disappointment over the performance of the cricketers, Nazmul Abedin told Fahim, ‘We tried to play in conditions that were not in our favor, but where we could play well outside, including in ICC events. We want to take that challenge. The game we played against Zimbabwe, the conditions may not have been like ours. But I expected more from the experienced, quality players in our team. The result is definitely not satisfactory at all, it is a bit embarrassing.’
He also said, ‘I hope we will come back from this place. We have to come back. It is also a good opportunity to understand what our capacity is. The players also have to feel how and what they dream about themselves. Where they want to take the national team, at the end of the day, the team is theirs. They have to make that decision. Bangladesh and Zimbabwe will fly to Chittagong to play the second and final Test of the series. The match will be held at the Bir Shrestha Flight Lt. Matiur Rahman Stadium (formerly Zahur Ahmed) in Chittagong on April 28.
