The trial of Diego Maradona's death due to negligence is underway in an Argentine court. Dalma Maradona, the daughter of the late Argentine legend, testified in the court on Tuesday. While testifying, Maradona's eldest daughter said that doctors misled her and her sisters about her father's treatment. Dalma also claimed that the environment of the house where Maradona died was uninhabitable.
Dalma, the eldest of Maradona's five children, went to court on Tuesday with her mother Claudia Viafane to testify. Dalma described how the doctors misled them before the judge, "They promised to keep us at home and provide treatment (home hospitalization), but nothing like that was done. They made us believe things that they never did." And in doing so, they have mercilessly misled and deceived us.’
The hero of Argentina’s 1986 World Cup victory died at home on November 25, 2020, at the age of 60. Maradona was being treated at a home on the outskirts of Buenos Aires after undergoing surgery for a blood clot in his brain.
