Why The Caterpillar Can Enter The World Guinness Of Records As The Scariest Creature

    I could not resist the urge of taking          the above image when I saw this baby      on the road last Sunday. Who                   would have avoided him really?

Who would ever believe a Caterpillar is just the baby of a butterfly! They look world apart without any resemblance whatsoever. While the butterfly looks very beautiful and harmless, the Caterpillar looks and behaves in a scary way. They are scary indeed and can easily enter the Guinness book of records.

            The Scary Baby

Before you beginning airing your doubts about the above, just allow me to continue writing as you read with me. There may be other creatures which are mean and scary but a Caterpillar will beat them all in a fair competition. Otherwise which other baby is as scary as the caterpillar?

Human babies are quite frail and infact cannot open their eyes. A calf will run at birth but it is not as scary.

         The Life Cycle

Normally a Caterpillar begins as an egg. On hatching, the egg hatches into a Caterpillar which is the larva stage of the butterfly. This is the feeding stage and quite dangerous. After feeding to its full, it will go to a resting stage known as pupa. The pupa or pupae will finally turn into an adult after some days.

       Why The Caterpillar Is Scary

1. Prickly Hair

A caterpillar normally defends itself from enemies using the prickly hair. Upon your body coming in touch with a Caterpillar, its hair will impedde itself in your skin causing irritations. The area which comes in touch with the hair causes scratching which may spread to other parts of the body. The pain can be so severe, depending on the type of caterpillar, that one may need the specialized attention of a medical doctor.

2. Wormiphobia

This happens to be the fear of worms or creatures which resemble worms. It is also known as helminthrophobia or scoleciphobia. People will just freak when they will spy caterpillars.

3. Destroyers

Caterpillars are destroyers of vegetation. They destroy love and often leave famine I their wake. Army worms especially the fall army worm has really messed up many farmers in the world.
