"She remembered the time she poured a pot full of water on the unfortunate man. Drenched like a chick rained on, the handsome man escaped into the bush escorted by the giggles of the beautiful Dina with her mates. Mama Dina laughed to herself as she recalled this."
Yet there was no man as persistent and undeterred as this man Samuel Esau Keya Kegodi. He was as determined as a hunter who has spotted the best bush meat he had ever tested. He had seen a gem in Dina and wanted to keep her for himself. Yet an event was to happen that made Dina's heart to soften and melt for Samuel.
Dina had gone to gather firewood in the deep Misango forest a chore she frequently did. Yet this day was quite different. Dina felt all was not well as she began gathering the dry pieces of wood. She felt apprehension wondering what was wrong with her.
A twig cracked! Dina raised her head as her adrenelin rose in her body making her heart throb loudly like the beats of Ashanti drums. Dina looked around but all was silent. She went back to gathering her wood.
Yet she felt there were eyes watching her. Her sixth sense had been aroused making it hard to concentrate on her chore. Fear took the better of her and she quickly collected the few branches she had collected and commanded her legs to compete with each other as they carried her home.
Suddenly in her hurry she never saw a protruding tree stump. The impact made her feel drunkenly dumping her in a ditch with a heavy thud. The small bunch of firewood flew from her hands and landed a distance from where she fell.
An extruciating pain shot from her ankle forcing her to lie down in a ditch like one dead.
She had no time to utter even a scream. When she opened her eyes, she was carried shoulder high by two men in ragged clothes. This was a bad nightmare.
"Mamaaaaaaaaaa." She let out a shattering scream. The voice reverberated in the woods and the echoes relayed the sound deep in the forest.
The men were taken aback. They literally threw her on the ground. Dina screamed more from the pain she felt and the fear.
Her hazy eyes espied another form developing from the forest. The figure advanced magestically towards the trio.
