Liverpool gave a disappointing performance in their first game of the UEFA Champions League match that went down on Wednesday. I haven't seen the team so disorganized like that in a long while, I know about their injury problems but that's not enough reason to give such an embarrassing performance that we saw against Napoli.
It was an easy win for Napoli, they bagged three goals in the first half and a big thanks to Milner for gifting Napoli two goals lead with his blunders, I really don't know what was going on in the manager's head but it is very unusual of him to start Milner in a match and it backfired when he did.
The weekend before the match, Liverpool played a derby against Everton and the match made me wonder how Liverpool intends to challenge for the title if they still haven't given their fans a positive impression about them after 6 league matches.
The Champions League only exposed them and it would give other Premier League teams the morale to go all out against them. The team spirit is down, they aren't playing like a team that wants to win and things could get worse if nothing is done to bring the team back to life.
If Napoli can do that much to the team, I fear what the likes of Manchester City, Brighton, Brentford, and others can do to the FA Cup and Carabao Cup champions. I don't want to believe that the stress they went through for reaching three finals and also challenging for the league is still affecting them, the likes of Real Madrid and others are up running and getting results out of every match.
Jurgen Klopp is a veteran manager and I know he will find his way around the team issue and find a lasting solution.
Chelsea also lost to Dynamo Zagreb but they still did better than Liverpool, it hurt their fans to see them struggle against a side like Dynamo Zagreb. Thomas Tuchel danced to the beat of the failure, it was unfortunate for him to lose his job after the match.
The London side have had more victory than Liverpool but they are really not doing well, they have struggled in all their matches this season.
The two teams need to get back in good shape because the league title become too far away from their reach, Chelsea hasn't appointed a new manager yet and I hope they make the right choice.
Jurgen Klopp is going nowhere at the moment so I wish him the best of luck in bringing the team back to their best, hopefully, we will see a better Liverpool when the who squad is completely fit.
