PSG remain undefeated champions with 6 matches left

There are still a month and a half left until the end of the French Ligue 1. PSG has 6 more matches left in the league. But PSG will now only take to the field in those 6 matches to protect the rules. In the meantime, they have won the league title!

PSG could have secured the title for the fourth time in a row if they drew against Angers last night. Luis Enrique's team won the match 1-0 after attacking one after another. And that led to a title celebration in Paris at the end of the match. PSG has not lost a single match in the league this season. They have 74 points from 28 matches with 23 wins and five draws. Monaco is in second place with 51 points, having played one match less. This is PSG's 13th title in Ligue 1, PSG has been champions 11 times in the last 13 seasons!

Although the winning margin was only 1 goal, PSG was in complete control throughout the match. They had 81.2% possession of the ball, taking a total of 20 shots on goal. However, PSG failed to score in the first half. Gonzalo Ramos and Vitinha missed opportunities even though they were very close. Finally, in the 55th minute of the match, French forward Desire Douy found the net with a great volley from a cross by Khicha Cavarasqueira. That was the difference in the match.

PSG coach Luis Enrique is naturally happy to be the first among the top five European leagues to secure the title. That is why the PSG coach does not want to be left out in the remaining matches of the league, saying, 'Confirming the title at the beginning of April shows how high we have reached this season. But there are still a few matches left. I hope we can finish the season undefeated. No team has been able to do this before in France. That is our goal now.'
