Bayern Munich 1:2 Inter Milan
Thomas Muller, who announced his departure from the club at the end of the season, saved Bayern Munich. He brought an equalizer in the match that was behind. But the German club had to leave the field with a defeat in the final match.
Inter Milan won 2-1 in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League quarter-finals at the Allianz Arena today. Davide Frattesi scored the winning goal for Inter in the 88th minute of the match.
Bayern's unbeaten run ended with this victory for Inter. The team was unbeaten in the last 22 matches in European competitions at home.
Bayern did not reduce their attacks against their Italian rivals. Harry Kane, Michael Oliseh, and Rafael Guerreira had 7 shots on target in the first half. But they did not find the goal. On the contrary, Inter took the lead in the 38th minute with a goal from Lautaro Martinez. Marcus Thuram's back heeled ball was passed to the Argentine forward and he headed it into the net.
Bayern got the goal in the 85th minute. Muller, who came on as a substitute for Leroy Sane, tapped in the ball to equalise. But the relief was short-lived. Three minutes later, Frattesi scored from Carlos Augusto's cross; the goal sealed Inter's victory, and Bayern's first Champions League defeat since the match against PSG in April 2021.
