Bangladesh's Nigar Sultana in Women's World Cup best XI

Bangladesh has won the Women's T20 World Cup for the first time in 12 years. However, Bangladesh must be called a failure in the World Cup that ended yesterday in the United Arab Emirates. Although Nigar Sultana's team supposedly defeated Scotland, they lost the other three matches without creating any competition. Only captain Nigar Sultana had a worthy performance for the team that was eliminated in the first round.

Nigar got recognition for that performance. The captain of the Bangladesh women's team has been named in the ICC Team of the Tournament announced today after the World Cup. Nigar got a place as a wicketkeeper-batter.

Nigar, who scored 104 runs in four matches in the World Cup, took 1 catch behind the wicket and made 6 stumpings. No other wicketkeeper has had more dismissals than Nigar in the 2024 Women's T20 World Cup.

Although they lost to New Zealand in the final, the best XI of the tournament has three South Africans, and the team's captain is Laura Volvert. Two of the champions, New Zealand, are in the best XI and one is the twelfth player. A total of seven countries are represented in the best team of the tournament.
