Utilization of ICT that is strategic and appropriate is a very important pillar towards Smart Village which aims to achieve happiness in life, improve quality of life, efficiency, and competitiveness, and ensure the fulfillment of needs in the economic, social, and environmental aspects of the village. In addition, ICTs have a strategic role in achieving a healthy and dynamic independent village, improving village welfare, and facilitating village government service activities.
OpenDesa fully believes that open source ICT tools (Open ICTs), which are free to use and which are developed jointly by caring communities, are an effective means of accelerating the application and use of ICT towards Smart Village.
This trust arises from the experience of OpenSID, an open source village information system that is free and free to use by the village - which in a relatively short period of time has been utilized by more than 7,500 villages and continues to be developed jointly by caring and motivated communities to advance their villages.
The Digital Open Village Association was formed on December 7, 2018 in Lima Puluh Kota District, West Sumatra Province, as a forum to develop, disseminate and help villages utilize open information technology, such as OpenSID, solely to advance the village.
The services offered by OpenDesa and the OpenDesa work program are intended to support that goal. OpenDesa is ready to collaborate and collaborate with all relevant agencies, institutions and groups, so that our common goal is to create as many Smart Villages as possible as soon as possible.
