Family

Families are mainly of 6 types 

namely :-

• Family based on number of husband and wife 

Such families are again divided into 5 groups. Namely-1/ Monogamous family 2/ Polygamous family 3/ Polygamous family, 4) Concubine family and 5) Concubine family

• Family based on authority 

There are three types of such families. Namely- 1/patriarchal or patriarchal family 2/matriarchal or matriarchal family, 3) tribal or clan-headed family

• Family based on size 

There are three types of families on the basis of size. Namely- 1/single family 2/joint family 3/extended family.

• Family based on descent status and inheritance of property 

There are three types of such families. Namely- 1/ paternal family 2/ matrilineal family, 3) hereditary family

• Family based on residence of husband and wife after marriage 

There are three types of such families. Namely- 1 / paternal family 2 / maternal family 3 / non-resident family.

• Family on the basis of spouse selection 

Based on this, there are three types of families. Namely-1/Extra family 2/Intragotra family, 3) Two types of family • Intragotra family is again of two types. Namely-1/Anuloma family based on marriage 2/Pratiloma family based on marriage.
