 As the renovation work of Bangabandhu National Stadium is underway, it has not been decided yet where BFF will hold the Independence Cup, the first edition of the new season of domestic football. The BFF's professional league committee is thinking of starting the Independence Cup from November 26.

 

 Outside Dhaka, BFF was the main choice for the Shaheed Dhirendranath Dutta Stadium in Comilla. But now they are looking away from Comilla and thinking of Dhaka.

 

 Dhaka means now the only resource of BFF is Kamalapur Birshreshtha Shaheed Sepoy Mostafa Kamal Stadium. The reluctance of the clubs to play in this turf field meant that BFF decided to hold the Independence Cup outside Dhaka.

 

 Again, playing outside Dhaka means extra hassle, extra cost. That is why BFF now wants to persuade the clubs to organize the Kamalapur Independence Cup.

 

 BFF has asked the clubs to express their views in a letter regarding the organization of Independence Cup in Kamalapur. The clubs will give their opinion by Wednesday. The league committee will then meet and finalize the venue of the Independence Cup. If the clubs agree, then this year's Independence Cup football will be on the turf of Kamalapur.

 

 Mohammedan Sporting Club has already given its opinion about Kamalapur to BFF. Abu Hassan Chowdhury, one of the directors of the club and the leader of the football team, told Prince Jago News, "Earlier, some people, including our Japanese footballer, were injured while playing on the turf in Kamalapur. That is why we have informed BFF not to organize the Independence Cup in Kamalapur. '

 

 BFF plans to host this year's Independence Cup by adding four more teams along with 12 clubs in the Bangladesh Premier League. Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Bangladesh Air Force, Bangladesh Sports Education Institution and BFF will invite their affiliated public universities to play Independence Cup. If more than four teams agree to play, BFF will select four.

 

 # Kings teammate Abahani in AFC Cup

 

 Abahani Limited has not played in the AFC Cup this year. The Asian Football Confederation (AFC) continued the AFC Cup without Abahani due to a venue problem caused by the coronavirus.

 

 Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club was scheduled to play in the AFC Cup play-offs next year (in 2022) due to being the runners-up in the Bangladesh Premier League. But Sheikh Jamal lost the opportunity because the club was not licensed. As a result, Abahani is getting the opportunity to play even after becoming the third.
