The Advisory Committee on Immunization Practice on Thursday recommended a third dose of the Pfizer-Biotech vaccine to people 5 years of age or older, as well as 50-4 people whose medical condition makes them more likely to be seriously ill or infected with the virus. If the CDC accepts the recommendation after Thursday as expected, the administration will remove its final hurdle to start giving booster shots.
