Agriculture In Bangladesh: Use of Chinese technology in the development of cotton cultivation in Bangladesh

Textile industry has been contributing in the field of unemployed manpower and employment in the textile industry is currently employed with about 50 lakhs (export-oriented ready-made garments). Textile industry has contributed about 40 percent of the total industry income and 10 percent of the national income in terms of economic value addition. In 1995-96, foreign currency earnings was $ 2.6 billion, and rapidly increased to $ 25.61 billion in 2013-14; Which accounts for 85 percent of the country's total foreign exchange earnings in the export sector. Cotton is the main raw material in the textile industry. Approximately 40-42 million bales of glass are needed every year - of which approximately 12,000 crores is worth. Domestic production is only 1,50,000 bales, which is only 2-3% of the national demand. In Bangladesh, the amount of land used for cotton cultivation is about 2.5 lakh hectares. It is possible to meet 30% of national demand due to the expansion of advanced technology in this suitable land. The Cotton Development Board has been performing this duties in the field of cotton cultivation.
Currently, the work of expansion of cotton cultivation is being carried out in 4 Regions, 13 zones, 180 unit unit offices in 33 plain districts and 3 hilly districts in Bangladesh. Besides, quality seed production and research activities are going on in 5 research farms. The present government is implementing 3 programs and 1 project through Cotton Development Board considering the expansion and research of cotton cultivation in Bangladesh. Moreover, recently on 19/08/2014, the Honorable Prime Minister approved a project titled 'Extended cotton cultivation, phase-1' of 105 crore, through which 100,000 hectares of land in 46 districts will be brought under cotton cultivation. Moreover, during the present government the area of cotton cultivation is increasing day by day. The progress of cotton cultivation in the 2014-15 season is shown in the 2008-2009 season (second page).
The main reason for the possibility of cotton cultivation in Bangladesh is its proper market management. It is marketed by the government at a fixed price, in whole Bangladesh. Besides cotton, there are many uses- oils, cakes and fuels are available in addition to fiber from cotton seeds. Cotton is a deep-rooted crop that can play a role in preserving soil fertility. Research section like Cotton Development Board's expansion program is not as strong - but the research part is going to be strong since NARS came in 2012. So far, 14 small plots and two hilly varieties have been invented through research, out of which CB-12, CB-13, CB-14 and HC-2 are highly appreciated. Besides, the Cotton Development Board has reached hybrid varieties of cotton seeds through cultivation of private seed companies and the process of innovation of hybrid varieties has been started by the Cotton Development Board's own initiative. Moreover, the present government has taken this initiative to expand the BT cotton cultivation phase soon. There are some limitations in the possibilities of cotton cultivation and research. Especially short-term varieties, non-seeded cotton trees, high-yielding hybrid BT manpower and land scarcity. Among the current cotton producing countries, China's position is at number one. China producers, importer and users have their status in one of the three positions.China has outstanding achievements in cotton research. Their hybrid varieties produced are BT cotton pest resistant varieties of cultivation everywhere. They have anatomical and non-leafy trees, 95 varieties of short-term varieties, drought and saline tolerant Bt cotton varieties, which are waiting for release. In addition to the mechanical method, O type is a non-leafless cotton tree. Besides, their acre yields a lot more than 5-8 tonnes and they have sophisticated technology in fertilizer management. In all, if we can bring cooperation through government from China's research, cotton cultivation in our country will be a revolution and fear of domestic economy will be very strong.
