Pirojpur was always neglected. Like Tungipara, this area was always neglected, but from now on it is not neglected Pirojpur certainly will be improved. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday said this while inaugurating the construction of the Bekutia bridge of Pirojpuris' dream through video conferencing. The Prime Minister inaugurated three more development projects of Pirojpur at that time. The video conference was held at the premises of Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner at 10am from Ganobhaban at Shaheed Abdur Razzak-Saif Mizan Memorial Hall. Other projects that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inaugurated are Pirojpur District Jail and Bhandaria Upazila Shilpakala Academy and Open Market and 100% Electricity Work in Pirojpur Sadar Upazila.

Pirojpur Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali Mohammad Sajjad Hossain, Pirojpur District Awami League president AKM A Awal, student Sonia Akter spoke at the video conference with the Prime Minister. Deputy Commissioner Abu Ali SM Sajjad Hossain expressed gratitude to the Prime Minister in his speech and highlighted the details of the projects. District Awami League president AKMA Awal has demanded to build a grid sub-station at Pirojpur in the video conferencing. Student Sonia Akhtar expressed her gratitude for taking up the work of Bakutia Bridge. Pirojpur Superintendent of Police Mohammad Salam Kabir, Pirojpur District Council Chairman Mohiuddin Maharaj, Pirojpur District Awami League General Secretary MA Hakim Hawladar were present in the video conference.
Pirojpur Road Division Executive Engineer Masud Mahmud Sumon said the construction of the 8th Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge on Kanchandi in Bakuati of Rajapur-Nayakathi-Bekutia-Pirojpur road ended on 31 January of 2021. Executive Engineer said, the government of Bangladesh will construct 167.45 million taka bridge and the government of China 654 crore 64 lakhs The length of the Psychedelier Gardner Bridge will be 9.48 meters wide, 13.40 meters wide, nine in the span, and eight eight peir. He said that after completion of construction of the bridge, there will be uninterrupted communication between Khulna Division and Barisal Division.
Deputy Assistant Professor of Pirojpur Public Works Mohammad Abbas Uddin said the district jail was constructed at a cost of about Tk 4 crore. The new District Jail will hold the capacity of 3 hundred people. In the old jails, there were 177 people holding capacity.
Vandaria Upazila Shilpakala Academy and Muktomancha were built at a cost of Tk 1.86 crore in the initiative of the Ministry of Culture. Built on 50% of the land, with a gallery of 6 hundred spectacular capacity, the academy part has a training room, two dressing rooms, VIP rooms, six toilets. Shilpakala Academy and Muktemancha have been built in the adjacent areas of Forest Department of Ecopark and Thana on the west bank of the Gonda Pona river in Bhandaria port.
