Reviewing the past history of the world, it is seen that when the people of a community disobeyed the commands of the Creator and did not return to the right path despite repeatedly sending various prophets or warning them in any other way, Allah brought down a terrible calamity on them. As a result, no further existence of that community could be found later. But the question that comes to the minds of many is, when God is angry with a community, why does it affect all the good people in that community? Why didn't God save those good people from all these terrible wrath? Here I will try to answer this question.
পৃথিবীর অতীত ইতিহাস পর্যালোচনা করলে দেখা যায়, যখন কোন সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষ সৃষ্টিকর্তার আদেশ-নিষেধ অমান্য করে পাপাচারে লিপ্ত হয়েছিল, এবং বারংবার বিভিন্ন নবী রাসূল পাঠিয়ে বা অন্য কোন উপায়ে তাদেরকে সতর্ক করা সত্ত্বেও সঠিক রাস্তায় ফিরে আসেনি, আল্লাহ তাদের উপর ভয়াবহ দূর্যোগ নামিয়ে এনেছিলেন। ফলে সেই সম্প্রদায়ের আর কোন অস্তিত্বই পরে খুজে পাওয়া যেত না। কিন্তু অনেকের মনে প্রশ্ন এসে থাকে, আল্লাহ যখন কোন সম্প্রদায়ের উপর গজব দেন, তখন সেই সম্প্রদায়ের মধ্যে যেসকল ভাল মানুষ থাকে তাদের উপরেও কেন সেটার প্রভাব পড়ে? আল্লাহ কেন সেই সকল ভাল মানুষকে বাচান নি এসকল ভয়াবহ গজব থেকে? এখানে আমি এই প্রশ্নেরই উত্তর দেয়ার চেষ্টা করবো।
There are several explanations for why God punishes bad people as well as good people who live with them.
আল্লাহ কেন খারাপ মানুষের সাথে সাথে তাদের সাথে বসবাস কারী ভাল মানুষকেও শাস্তি দেন সেটার কয়েক রকম ব্যাখ্যা প্রদান করা যায়।
1) If the good people of that community, that is, the believers, are only preoccupied with themselves, and do not initiate the people of their community to come to the right path, then no matter how pious they may be, they will be liable to Allah. Allah says in the Holy Qur'an, "O you who believe, save yourselves from the fire of Hell, and save your family and relatives." If you notice very well here, you will see that Allah did not say these words to the transgressors. The words is said to the believers. That is, if a believer does not initiate his family and relatives to save him from the fire of Hell, then he will be disobedient to the word of Allah from this point of view. Then it is very common for him to be punished by Allah. (It is worth mentioning here that according to the law of the Holy Qur'an, you will initiate your family and relatives to follow the right path.Whether they will follow the right path or not, it won't affect you badly.)
১) যদি সেই সম্প্রদায়ের ভাল মানুষ তথা ঈমানদার ব্যক্তিগন শুধু তাদের নিজেদের নিয়েই ব্যস্ত থাকে, অথচ তাদের সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষদেরকে সঠিক পথে আসার দীক্ষা না দেয় তবে তারা যত বড়ই ধার্মিক ব্যক্তি হন না কেন, আল্লাহর কাছে তাড়া দায়ী থাকবে। আল্লাহ পবিত্র কোরানে বলেছেন, "হে ঈমানদার ব্যক্তিগন, তোমরা নিজেরা জাহান্নামের আগুন থেকে নিজেদেরকে বাচাও এবং তোমার পরিবার পরিজন, আত্নীয় স্বজনদের কেও বাচাও।" অর্থাৎ কোন ঈমাণদার ব্যক্তিও যদি তার পরিবার পরিজন, আত্মীয় স্বজনদেরকে জাহান্নামের আগুন থেকে বাচার জন্য দীক্ষা না দেয় তবে সে এইদিক থেকে আল্লাহর কথার অবাধ্য হবে। তখন তার উপরেও আল্লাহর পক্ষ থেকে শাস্তি আসাটা খুবই সাধারণ ব্যাপার। (এখানে একটা বিষয় ভাল করে বলে রাখা সমীচীন যে, পবিত্র কোরানের আইন অনুযায়ী আপনি আপনার পরিবার পরিজন ও আত্মীয় স্বজনদেরকে ভাল পথে চলার দীক্ষা দিবেন, তারা ভাল পথে আসবে কি না সেটার কোন খারাপ প্রভাব আপনার উপর আসবেনা।)
2) It is often seen that a person in Islam who has done the above work properly can also get anger when the bad people of that community get anger of Allah. In this case, the matter becomes very complicated to explain. However, if I say a hadith, maybe you can get a good idea about it.
২) অনেক সময় দেখা যায়, একজন পরিপূর্ণ ভাবে ইসলামের মধ্যে থাকা মানুষ যিনি উপরে আলোচ্য কাজটিও যথাযথ ভাবে পালন করেছেন, তার উপরেও গজব চলে আসতে পারে যখন সেই সম্প্রদায়ের খারাপ মানুষদের উপর গজব আসে। এক্ষেত্রে বিষয়টি ব্যখ্যা করা খুবই জটিল হয়ে যায়। তবুও আমি একটি হাদিস বললে হয়তো আপনারা এবিষয়ে একটা সুন্দর ধারণা পেতে পারেন।
At one point, God called two angels and said to the first one, "One of my favorite servants in the area, on whom I am pleased, is near death." Before he died, he asked his sons to eat bread fried with olive oil. But I don't want him to eat it before he dies. You make sure he doesn't eat it before he dies. The other angel, on the other hand, is said to be another servant of mine in one area, but he is a transgressor, I am not satisfied with him, he wants to eat big fish before he dies. You can arrange for him to eat it before he dies. The two angels performed their duties properly and went to Allah and asked him why he did not allow the good man to eat olive oil bread before he died and why he made the bad man eat big fish!
কোন এক সময় আল্লাহ দুজন ফেরেস্তাকে ডেকে প্রথম জনকে বললেন, এক এলাকায় আমার একজন প্রিয় বান্দা, যার উপর আমি সন্তুষ্ট, সে মৃত্যুর কাছাকাছি। মৃত্যুর আগে সে তার ছেলেদের কাছে যয়তুন তেল দিয়ে ভাজা রুটি খেতে চেয়েছে। কিন্তু আমি চাইনা সে মৃত্যুর আগে এটা খেতে পারুক। সে যেন মৃত্যুর আগে সেটা খেতে না পারে তুমি সেটার ব্যবস্থা করবে। অন্যদিকে অপর ফেরেস্তাকে বলা হলো এক এলাকায় আমার আরেকজন বান্দা, তবে সে সীমালঙ্ঘন কারী, আমি তার উপর সন্তুষ্ট নয়, সে মৃত্যুর আগে বড় মাছ খেতে চেয়েছে। সে যেন মৃত্যুর আগে সেটা খেতে পারে তুমি সেটার ব্যবস্থা করবে। দুজন ফেরেস্তা তাদের উপর অর্পিত কাজ যথাযথ ভাবে পালন করে আল্লাহ কে গিয়ে জিজ্ঞেস করলেন কেন তিনি ভাল মানুষটাকে কেন মৃত্যুর আগে যয়তুন তেলের রুটি খেতে না দিয়ে কষ্ট দিলেন আর খারাপ মানুষটাকে কেন তিনি বড় মাছ খাওয়ার ব্যবস্থা করে দিলেন!
God's answer was:
I am kind and at the same time a great judge. If someone does the slightest good deed, I will repay him, and if someone does the least bad deed, I will repay him thoroughly. In the Holy Qur'an, Allah says, "Whoever does good or bad as much as a mustard seed, I will repay him."
The good man that I did not allow to fulfill his wish before he died, did a lot of good things in life but did a little bad things. I can't send him to hell for this little wrongdoing on the Day of Judgment. So I punished him for that wrong deed with a little trouble in the world. Now when I judge him after death, he will be able to stand before me without sin. In this way I will complete kindness and unconditional judgment on him.
আল্লাহর উত্তর ছিল এরকমঃ
আমি হলাম দয়ালু এবং একই সাথে মহান বিচারক। কেউ যদি সামান্যতম ভাল কাজ করে সেটার প্রতিদান ও আমি দেব, আবার কেউ সামান্যতম খারাপ কাজ করলেও সেটার প্রতিদান আমি পুঙ্খানুপুঙ্খ ভাবে দিয়ে দেব। পবিত্র কোরানে আল্লাহ বলেন," কেউ সরিষার দানা পরিমাণ ভাল বা খারাপ কাজ করলেও সেটার প্রতিদান আমি তাকে দিয়ে দিব।"
যে ভাল মানুষটাকে আমি মৃত্যুর আগে তার ইচ্ছা পূরন করতে দিলাম না, সে জীবনে অনেক ভাল কাজ করলেও একটা ছোট খারাপ কাজ করে ফেলেছিল। হাশরের ময়দানে তার এই সামান্য ভুল কাজের জন্য তাকে আমি জাহান্নামে দিতে পারিনা। তাই দুনিয়াতেই তাকে একটু কষ্ট দিয়ে সেই ভুল কাজের শাস্তি দিয়ে দিলাম। এখন যখন মৃত্যুর পরে আমি তার বিচার করবো তখন সে আমার সামনে পাপমুক্ত ভাবে দাঁড়াতে পারবে। এভাবে আমি তার উপর দয়া এবং নির্ভেজাল বিচার সম্পন্ন করবো।
The transgressor on the other hand did a little good even though he had been disobedient all my life. But for this little good deed I cannot give him Paradise on the Day of Judgment. Again, so that he could not ask me for anything in return for his little good deed on the Day of Judgment, so I rewarded him for that good deed in the world.
অন্যদিকে সীমালঙ্ঘন কারী মানুষটি সারা জীবন আমার অবাধ্য থাকলেও একটা সামান্য ভাল কাজ করেছিল। কিন্তু সামান্য এই ভাল কাজের জন্য আমি তাকে হাশরের ময়দানে জান্নাত দিয়ে দিতে পারিনা। আবার সে যেন হাশরের ময়দানে তার এই সামান্য ভাল কাজের বিনিময়ে আমার কাছে কিছু চাইতে না পারে তাই তাকে দুনিয়াতেই সেই ভাল কাজের প্রতিদান দিয়ে দিলাম।
From this incident we can understand that sometimes Allah gives some amount of trouble to good people. But at the end of the day, those hardships will bring something good for the man.
এই ঘটনা থেকে আমরা বুঝতে পারি যে, মাঝে মাঝে আল্লাহ ভাল মানুষদেরকে কিছু পরিমাণ কষ্ট দিয়ে থাকেন। কিন্তু দিন শেষে সেই কষ্টগুলো উক্ত মানুষটির জন্য ভাল কিছুই বয়ে নিয়ে আসবে।
