Every human being wants to establish authority over other human beings. This trend has probably been going on since ancient times. Everyone, who or what they want to dominate other people or communities when given the opportunity, wants to rule them. The disparity between the ruling class in the society is probably due to this tendency. The ruling class has resorted to whatever it takes to establish authority over other people or communities. This has created chaos and unrest in the society. The ruling class, while sucking the blood of the exploited community, wants to keep them under its control, while the exploited community has always been vocal in asserting their rights. This movement for the rights of the exploited class has sometimes taken the form of armed rebellion. As a result, war between the ruling and the exploited class became inevitable. Most of the time it is seen that the exploited class is defeated in this battle for rights against the ruling class, they can win in a very short time.
প্রতিটি মানুষই অন্য মানুষের ওপর কর্তৃত্ব স্থাপন করতে চাই। এই প্রবনতা সম্ভবত সেই আদিকাল থেকেই চলে আসছে। প্রত্যেকেই, যে বা যারা যখন সুযোগ পেয়েছে সেই সময়ে তারা অন্য মানুষ বা সম্প্রদায়ের ওপর কর্তৃত্ব স্থাপন করতে চেয়েছে, তাদের কে শাসন করতে চেয়েছে। সমাজে শাসক শাসিতের মধ্যে যে বৈষম্য তা সম্ভবত এই প্রবণতা থেকে সৃষ্টি হয়েছে। অন্য মানুষ বা সম্প্রদায়ের ওপর কর্তৃত্ব স্থাপন করার জন্য যখন যা প্রয়োজন শাসকশ্রেণী সেটারই আশ্রয় নিয়েছে। এর ফলে সমাজে সৃষ্টি হয়েছে বিশৃঙ্খলা অশান্তি যুদ্ধ-বিগ্রহ। শাসক শ্রেনী শোষিত সম্প্রদায়ের রক্ত শুষে হলেও তাদেরকে নিজেদের কর্তৃত্বের মধ্যে রাখতে চেয়েছে, অন্যদিকে শোষিত সম্প্রদায় সব সময়ই তাদের অধিকার আদায় করতে সোচ্চার হয়েছে। শোষিত শ্রেণীর অধিকার আদায়ের এই আন্দোলন কখনো কখনো সশস্ত্র বিদ্রোহের রূপ নিয়েছে। ফলে শাসক এবং শোষিত শ্রেণীর মধ্যে যুদ্ধ অনিবার্য হয়ে পড়ে। অধিকাংশ সময়ই দেখা যায় শোষিত শ্রেনী শাসক শ্রেণীর বিরুদ্ধে অধিকার আদায়ের এই যুদ্ধে পরাজিত হয়, খুব অল্প সময়েই তারা জয়লাভ করতে পারে।

কিন্তু যে কোন শাসক শ্রেণী মাত্রই জানে এই দিন চিরদিন তাদের সুদিন নয়। এমন একদিন অবশ্যই আসবে যেদিন অধিকার আদায়ের এই যুদ্ধে শক্তির ভারসাম্য শোষিত শ্রেণীর দিকেই ঝুঁকে পড়বে। সেদিন শোষিত সম্প্রদায়ের এই বিদ্রোহের জোয়ার শাসকশ্রেণীকে বানের জলের মত ভাসিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে। যেকোনো দূরদৃষ্টি সম্পন্ন শাসকশ্রেণী এই দিন সম্পর্কে সচেতন থাকে। তাই শাসক সম্প্রদায় এমন কিছু চিরস্থায়ী কৌশলের আশ্রয় নেয় যার মাধ্যমে তারা প্রত্যক্ষভাবে শোষিত সম্প্রদায়ের ওপর কর্তৃত্ব হারালে পরোক্ষভাবে তাদেরকে সারাজীবন শাসন করতে পারে।
The victorious can win the war and keep the exploited under control as long as their military capabilities exceed those of the exploited community. In order to keep any community under its control forever, their culture must be hurt. যুদ্ধে জয় লাভ করে ততদিন পর্যন্ত শোষিত নিজের বশে রাখা যায় যতদিন পর্যন্ত নিজের সামরিক সক্ষমতা শোষিত সম্প্রদায়ের থেকে বেশি থাকে। যে কোন সম্প্রদায়কে চিরদিন নিজের কর্তৃত্বের মধ্যে বেঁধে রাখতে হলে অবশ্যই তাদের সংস্কৃতির ওপর আঘাত হানতে হয়। অর্থাৎ শোষিত সম্প্রদায়ের সাংস্কৃতিক বৈশিষ্ট্যের উপর এমন ভাবে আঘাত হানতে হবে যেন রক্তে মাংসে তারা থাকে ওই অঞ্চলের মানুষ, কিন্তু চিন্তা-চেতনা, শিক্ষা-দীক্ষা, দূরদৃষ্টিতে তারা শাসকশ্রেণীকে নিজেদের থেকে উত্তম বলে মনে করে। শোষিত সম্প্রদায়ের যে স্বতন্ত্র বৈশিষ্ট্য গুলো ছিল সেগুলো কে ধ্বংস করতে হবে। শোষিত সম্প্রদায়ের ধর্মীয় রীতিনীতি, সামাজিক আচার আচরণ সবকিছুর ভেতরে অপসংস্কৃতির অনুপ্রবেশ করাতে হবে। যার ফলে ভৌগলিক এবং সামরিক ভাবে ঐসকল সম্প্রদায় স্বাধীন হলেও নিজেদের স্বতন্ত্র বৈশিষ্ট্য বলে তাদের কিছু থাকবে না। শাষক শ্রণীকে তারা উপরের শ্রেণী বলেই মনে করবে। এসকল সম্প্রদায়ের মানুষর মাথায় কখনো এই চিন্তাও আসবে না যে, শাষক শ্রেণীর মত তারাও মানুষ, সকল বিষয়ে শাষক শ্রেনী এবং তাদের অধিকার সমান। ফলে এসকল সম্প্রদায় সামরিক এবং ভৌগলিকভাবে স্বাধীন হলেও মন-মস্তিষ্কে তার হবে ওপর শ্রেণীর ওই সকল মানুষের দাস।

ফলে পৃথিবীর অতীত পর্যালোচনা করলে দেখা যায় শাসক এবং শোষিত শ্রেণির ইতিহাসে শাসকশ্রেণী সবসময় শোষিত শ্রেণীর সংস্কৃতি এবং শিক্ষার উপর সর্বপ্রথম আঘাত হেনেছে। করোনা ভাইরাস মহামারীর কারণে আরোপিত লকডাউনের মধ্যে বাসায় বসে আমি এই সম্পর্কিত অনেক গুলো বই পড়েছি। প্রতিটি বইয়ের মূলভাব এটাই ছিল যে, কোন মানুষ বা সম্প্রদায় যদি পরিপূর্ণভাবে স্বাধীন হতে চাই তবে তাদের কে সামরিক বা ভৌগলিকভাবে স্বাধীনতা অর্জনের পাশাপাশি সাংস্কৃতিক ভাবেও স্বাধীনতা অর্জন করতে হবে।
