Were most of the wars pre-planned?

Recently world politics is very hot for breaking out the wwar between Russia and Ukraine. Russia is a super power now militarily. On the other hand, Ukraine has some support from western. Though Ukraine has already lost their land and water to Russia and the western couldn't do anything for Ukraine, but the western countries are the last ground of trust for them. And it is clear that if Russia hesitate to attack Ukraine, it is only for western support for Ukraine. 

Here I am confused to rules and regulations of Ukraine. They have lost enough land and water to Russia. It started at 2014 at the time of Crimea war. They have lost water area in black sea. And it was seen that their western friends never took any proper step against Russia except blockade. So I am confuse why Ukraine still trust their western friends? Why they don't take other step against Russia's invasion? 

Recently, I have read about some war from history. I have earned a lot. And I am most surprised to see that from any war, there was a third party who became the most benefitted and obviously they had not to lose anything. It is very clear when two small countries or group broke out a war. Most of the time, a super power or a strong group of people be benefitted. Here a question arise in my mind. Were most of the wars pre-planned by super powers or a group of people? It is just like the super powers are the players and we the third world countries are the ball by which they are playing football. I am not a specialist on war. But I can realize this issue in this way. 

So shouldn't the small countries do anything to avoid any type of war? May be the war with a super power or a weak countries. It is a matter of deep thinking.
