Rajshahi University is the second oldest and one of the largest universities in Bangladesh. The university was established by the then government of Pakistan about twenty years before the independence of Bangladesh. Located in the heart of Rajshahi, the largest city in northwestern Bangladesh, the university bears witness to many ancient histories and traditions of Bangladesh. Similarly, the slaughterhouse located at Purbapara of Rajshahi University has witnessed an ancient history. During the war of independence of Bangladesh in 1971, there were many massacres in different parts of Bangladesh, there are many monuments as witnessed of genocide the Pakistani aggressors. Such a massacre site is located within the boundaries of Rajshahi University.
The history of the Bangladesh War of Independence shows that the Shaheed Shamsuzzoha Hostel of Rajshahi University was a regional camp of the then Pakistani aggressors. I myself am currently a resident student of Shaheed Samsuzzoha Hostel of Rajshahi University. It is known from history that from this camp the Pakistani aggressors captured the freedom loving people around Rajshahi city and killed them in the slaughterhouse next to this hostel. After the independence of Bangladesh, a memorial was erected at that place to honor the martyrs who confessed to the murder. (Although I disagree with this method of honoring.)
At present, all educational institutions in Bangladesh are closed due to the Corona epidemic. Yet I stay in a mess next to Rajshahi University. Yesterday afternoon, three of my friends and I went for a walk to massacre site to enjoy our leisure time. The weather was great for a walk yesterday afternoon. We enjoyed a wonderful time there. That's where I took these pictures.

রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় বাংলাদেশের ২য় প্রাচীন ও অন্যতম বৃহত্তম বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়। বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীন হওয়ার প্রায় বিশ বছর আগে তৎকালীন পাকিস্তান সরকার এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টি স্থাপন করে। বাংলাদেশের উত্তর পশ্চিমাঞ্চলের বৃহত্তম শহর রাজশাহীর প্রাণকেন্দ্রে অবস্থিত এই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়টি বাংলাদেশের অনেক প্রাচীন ইতিহাস ও ঐতিহ্যের সাক্ষী। তেমনি এক প্রাচীন ইতিহাসের সাক্ষী হয়ে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের পূর্বপাড়া অবস্থিত বধ্যভূমি। ১৯৭১ সালে বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের সময় পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনী বাংলাদেশের সাধারন মানুষের উপর নির্মম হত্যাযজ্ঞ চালিয়েছিল সেই সকল ঘটনা সাক্ষী হয়ে বাংলাদেশের আনাচে-কানাচে অনেক বধ্যভূমি দাঁড়িয়ে আছে। এমনই এক বধ্যভূমির অবস্থান রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের সীমানার ভিতরে।
বাংলাদেশের স্বাধীনতা যুদ্ধের ইতিহাস থেকে জানা যায় রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শহীদ শামসুজ্জোহা ছাত্রাবাস তৎকালীন পাকিস্তানি হানাদার বাহিনীর আঞ্চলিক ক্যাম্প ছিল। আমি নিজে বর্তমানে রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের শহীদ সামসুজ্জোহা ছাত্রাবাসেরর একজন আবাসিক ছাত্র। ইতিহাস থেকে জানা যায় এই ক্যাম্প থেকেই পাকিস্থানি হানাদার বাহিনী রাজশাহী শহরের আশেপাশের স্বাধীনতাকামী মানুষকে ধরে এনে, এই ছাত্রাবাসের পাশে বধ্যভূমিতে হত্যা করত। বাংলাদেশ স্বাধীন হওয়ার পরে সেই জায়গাতেই একটি স্মৃতিসৌধ দাঁড় করিয়ে সেখানে হত্যার স্বীকার হওয়া শহীদদের সম্মান জানানো হয়। (যদিও সম্মান জানানোর এই পদ্ধতির এবিষয়ে আমার দ্বিমত আছে।)
বর্তমানে করণা মহামারীর জন্য বাংলাদেশের সকল শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান বন্ধ আছে। তবুও আমি রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদয়ালয়ের পাশে একটি মেসে অবস্থান করি। গতকাল বিকেল বেলা আমি ও আমার তিনজন বন্ধু মিলে অবসর সময় উপভোগ করার জন্য বদ্ধভূমি দিকে বেড়াতে গিয়েছিলাম। গতকাল বিকেল বেলা হাঁটাহাঁটি করার জন্য আবহাওয়া খুবই সুন্দর ছিল। আমরা সেখানে একটি সুন্দর সময় উপভোগ করেছিলাম। সেখানেই আমি এই ছবিগুলো তুলেছিলাম।
