Poem: Our Wicked King

S

Our kingdom is tearing apart

The peace we had is winding down

He doesn't care about no one

I mean our wicked king

We fret and panic at his sight

Our hearts skipping from its position

We bow our faces in fear

To avoid his wrath befalling us.

Our wicked king considers none

His advisers he heed not to

The only one he listens to

Is his wicked self alone.

The oats he swore before the gods

He has done contrary to it.

Humiliations and maltreatments

Is what he's meted out to us

Our wicked king is so selfish

He shoots at us if we complain

Even the elders he disrespects

Ruling our kingdom barbarically

Nobody seems to speak for us

Who else would want to speak for us

When fear has gripped the heart of all

We only look to God for help

Our land is yet to move ahead

The conscience of our king is dead

Many are locked up in the dungeon

For trying to bring justice to us

We only hope we all survive

That we don't all get down the drain

Before we all get delivered

Of our plight with our wicked king.
