The Third Dose of Coronavirus Vaccine is Now Available in Pakistan

The third dose of Vaccine has been provided in Pakistan from today. In the initial phase, the third dose will be given to medical personnel, citizens over 60 years of age, and those suffering from any disease. However, the federal government has not mandated the third dose.

At a recent meeting of the NCOC, measures were taken to prevent the spread of a new type of code 19, Omicron. Asad Omar, head of the NCOC, said the "new type of coronavirus, omicron, would reach Pakistan in a few weeks, and vaccination was the only way to stop its rapid spread."

On the other hand, the government has banned travel from the six African countries and Hong Kong where this new type of code exists.

 

What vaccines are available in Pakistan?

There are about seven types of vaccines available in Pakistan, including Synoform, Synovik, and Pfizer for the vaccine of COD-19.

However, according to local media, citizens can be vaccinated for the third dose by one of the three companies - Vaccine Pfizer, Synoform, and Synovik.

Talking to the BBC, Dr. Faisal Sultan, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Health, said that it was up to the vaccinator to decide which of them he would like to be vaccinated with.

Dr. Zaeem Zia, District Health Officer, Islamabad, said that the third dose recipients would be vaccinated as per the rules and regulations laid down by the government.

It should be noted that some vaccines like Pfizer are being given in Pakistan only to those who are traveling internationally.

 

Can different vaccines be given for booster shots?

Experts have described "mix and match" as harmless for the third dose. According to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), any vaccine for booster shots can be used. This means that the first two or one doses of the vaccine are not necessarily the same as the booster shot.

Speaking to the BBC, Dr. Zaeem Zia said that the third dose of the COD 19 vaccine would boost the body's immunity and increase its ability to fight the virus.

According to a government study conducted in the UK, medical experts believe that over time, the immunosuppression of most vaccines begins to wane or diminish.

This is especially true of people over 65 years of age or those who have a disease. That is why the third dose of Code 19 has been introduced in most of the countries of the world.

Is a third dose mandatory?

Pakistan is currently announcing a third dose for medical personnel and people over the age of 50.
