Last month, the first ever Blockchain Basics Book for Dutch university students (and anyone else interested) has been released in digital form. You can download it here for free. Since yesterday, it's also available in physical form and will be in stores from next week for just 25 EUR.
The book contains 550 pages and discusses Blockchain from the following four perspectives:
1. Technical
2. Philosophical
3. Economics
4. Business
It's the first Blockchain book in the Netherlands that provides this wide range of perspectives on the topic. As far as I know, it's also the first Blockchain book that discusses the mainstream Dutch payments system (credit cards and iDEAL) in great detail, and shows why they are archaic and inefficient compared to blockchain payments.
The most important contribution of the book, in my opinion, is the introduction of the philosophy of blockchain pioneers (cypherpunks, crypto-anarchists, and other cyber libertarians) for students. It hopefully opens up students' minds and makes them question the economic, financial, and business structures in society, and let them think of new ways in which we can create a more humane society.
