If proven guilty of the alleged financial rule violations, a prominent member of Manchester City's official supporters club acknowledges he would still support the team, but his admiration for their accomplishments would be "tainted."
The Premier League has accused City of violating its financial regulations more than 100 times.
If the allegations were true, the fans' club's general secretary, Kevin Parker, said he would be "disappointed," but he would still support the team "the day before the verdict and the day after it."
The allegations against City, who were acquired by the Abu Dhabi United Group in 2008, pertain to the years 2009 through 2018 when the team won three of its six Premier League championships.
The team has been sent to a separate panel by the Premier League for alleged rule violations that occurred between 2009 and 2018.
City stated that they were "surprised" by the allegations and that they are backed by "a body of indisputable evidence."
Parker stated on The Sports Desk podcast, "I have trust in the football team.
"After being given the chance to claim innocence or not, the club has said that they are innocent.
"Would I be let down? Of sure, since a portion of my faith in what this club is accomplishing right now will be shattered.
City violated regulations requiring them to present "correct financial information that offers a truthful and fair perspective of the club's financial status," the Premier League claimed on Monday.
Additionally, it charged City with failing to cooperate ever since the investigation's opening in December 2018.
From a fine and point penalty to expulsion from the Premier League, the commission has the power to punish.
If the club is determined to be guilty, Parker continued, "[The accomplishments] will be tarnished."
"As a supporter of City, I'm hoping more than anything that it fosters unity.
"No matter what may occur in the future, some of the memorable experiences we've shared cannot be taken away.
