You can read posts or watch videos about martial arts and self-defense. It will enrich your knowledge and that definitely helps you. But if you get the wrong message, that will not help you to defend yourself.
When you watch a video, you feel like you learn it and you can do that. That's great! Even though that's a simple technique, you need to practice that. You think you know it very well and you can do that step by step. As a matter of fact, when you are being attacked and you are under pressure, you might not remember what to do at that moment.
You have to practice that. There is no alternative. When you make your move without thinking about it, you can use that in a fight for self-defense. So practice, practice and practice. When it becomes like your second nature, you can do that instantly without thinking about it.
Fitness and stamina are very important. A person who is physically fit and has stamina has a better chance to survive. You need to do exercise to maintain your health. If you just want to run and save yourself, you have to have stamina. Otherwise, you will get out of breath.
And you cannot run anymore. You will be exhausted. If the attacker catches you, you cannot fight back, and that puts you in a more vulnerable position. When you learn self-defense, you should pay attention to fitness and stamina.
If you learn any martial art, you have to learn and do basic exercises, and stretching first. After a certain period of time, you will start learning punch, block, parry, kick, and different moves.
So what do you think? Please feel free to leave your comments below. Thank you for reading this post. That's it for now. Stay safe. Always be happy!
