When you are close to your opponent, you can do knee charge. This is very useful for self-defense. There are things that you have no control. Out of nowhere, someone attacks you. Before understanding anything, the attacker punches you. He is not going to stop after punching you. He will attack you more and take your money if he intends to rob you.

To punch you, the attacker is already in a punching range. You do not have to do anything. He is already there. You can defend the punch and do knee charge.
You attack the attacker in a certain way, and it is not that you plan to attack him like that. It just happens. If you learn the basics of knee charge, you can counter-attack and protect yourself from being robbed.
If the attacker attacks you with a baseball bat, you get in to defend that. As soon as he is about to swing the bat, you stop his hands. Now what would you do?
