Ukraine is one of the leading countries in the world for the adoption of cryptocurrencies. This can be confirmed by the recently adopted draft law on the legalization of cryptocurrencies. But the authorities do not intend to stop there. It is reported that testing of the virtual hryvnia may take place this year.
Naturally, such responsibility will not fall on the fragile shoulders of ordinary citizens. Rather, all the test subjects will be officials, or rather, employees of the country's Ministry of Digital Transformation. This statement was made by the head of the strategy and development department of the country's national bank, Arsen Makarchuk.
"At the moment, we are limited in the possibilities of using this financial instrument. But this will not prevent us from testing its work this year,"
Makarchuk said. But the full-fledged operation of the electronic hryvnia is predicted by the end of next year.
The information presented here was discussed back in August. And even then it was assumed that employees of the same department would be the first to start receiving salaries in electronic hryvnia, which is being developed by the national bank.
Also, the law on cryptocurrency (virtual) assets did not stand aside. We are now actively working on bylaws and amendments to the Tax Code. Indeed, without all this, the recently adopted bill will not enter into force. It is interesting that the deputy head of the digital transformation department, A. Bornyakov, believes that it is the service providers, but not the cryptoassets themselves, that are subject to regulation in the "Law on Virtual Assets". And since Bitcoin cannot be controlled, it cannot be regulated at the state level either.
