Relations between the two Madrid giants have become worse in the last year. Firstly, Atlético refused to hold a championship corridor for Real Madrid. Secondly, Hinter's "mattress covers" tried to take away the players in whom Real had previously shown interest, and also contacted the "creamy" players themselves.
But 11 years ago, ATM and Real Madrid entered into a verbal agreement, the so-called "non-aggression pact", which consisted in the fact that they would not sign the players of the competitor's youth team.
"Real" terminated the contract due to the reasons that I wrote above. One of Atletico's top academy talents, then defender Jesus Fortea, and now 15 has moved to Real Madrid. Since he is not yet 16 years old, which means he does not have a professional contract. Fortea was free to decide the fate of his future.
The latest senior player to move directly from one Madrid club to another is midfielder Marcos Llorente. In the summer of 2019, Atletico signed him from Real Madrid for 40 million euros.
