[Poem] Breaking the Fast

rada11219

The crescent moon, a sliver thin,

Marks the end, a fast within.

Anticipation fills the air,

A joyful break, a moment to share.

Dates and water, first to greet,

A gentle nudge, a welcome treat.

Then slowly, senses come alive,

Flavors dance, a reason to thrive.

Food is fuel, a gift to hold,

Not just pleasure, a story told.

Gratitude swells, for what we see,

Abundance shared, in harmony.

Fasting's lesson, etched so deep,

Excess to shed, and treasures keep.

A mindful approach, a balanced way,

Nourishing body, soul all day.
