As I always thought, Robinson first of all helped hard work, which he did every day, from time to time, the schedule of the day, ceremonial meals with the animals. (all of this aside from Friday, though of course Friday is the main thing that helped Robinson stay human.) All that I have described, adequately characterizes the English mentality, that is, imagine a Butler with a tray and a kettle on a desert island and you will understand that the English island will never go under water.

In all of this, as ridiculous as it sounds, Robinson's patriotism is hidden, but concrete. In fact, Robinson Crusoe and now contrasted as an example of correct realism to any there frivolous subjectivism. And the feeling of loneliness, more than described in detail in the novel, brings up independence in the reader. In my book, first read in early childhood, once greatly affected.

On the other hand, "Robinson Crusoe" - the book is sufficiently philosophical (one of the heroes of the works of Wilkie Collins, for example, turned to her for intelligent thoughts always), because it clearly reminds everyone that, despite the crowds that run constantly around us (albeit on TV), we all came into this world and leave it too alone. This book is a guide to self-identification, feel yourself, here and now. Plus Daniel Defoe in this form filed some extreme degree of individualism that she even ceased to seem so. The writer's personal inherent qualities have been transformed into purely civilizational aspirations.

I can only pay attention to all this now, because against the background of shocking scenes of cannibalism in Robinson Crusoe, everything else seems tinsel. Although, it would seem that this such savages just wanted to eat better. But children usually remember this scene very vividly. I also remember it vividly as a child. When I re-read already more Mature something else entirely accent the attention.
