It's finally happened! On October 29, the official opening of not one, but two ships in Ukraine took place! And this is a delight! Why? Our state, since its independence, has only sold ships... In 1991, there were 36 ships on the balance sheet in Ukraine. Everything has been sold over the years, sadness... But in August, the beginning was laid. Now there are two scientific vessels in Ukraine on the balance sheet. The first is the Noosphere, a glacier-type vessel. This is the name given to the ship for research in Antarctica. The second is the research vessel "Belgica", which the Kingdom of Belgium presented to Ukraine, for monitoring in the Black Sea. Below I present photos of both. They are even located nearby in the port of Odessa.
Yesterday, the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, came to present research vessels. He met with the 25th Antarctic scientific expedition. Polar explorers welcomed Vladimir Zelensky on a glacier-type vessel "Noosphere". My researcher friend, Vadim Zhukovsky, kindly provided a selfie photo with our President.
Since yesterday, you can visit the icebreaker "Noosphere" on an excursion and find out everything, see. Excursions are conducted by polar explorers and employees of the Ukrainian Antarctic Center. A lot of schools have already signed up for such an interesting walk around the ship. Welcome to Odessa!
