MY INTRODUCTION POST FOR SEREY/MI PUESTO DE PRESENTACIÓN PARA SEREY

This my first post on Serey.io, even though I originally signed up two years ago.  I am not sure why I never came back to write a post, but I am finally getting around to it.   It is different setting up a post here, compared to the other platforms I am on.   It will take a couple of publications to get used to it.

Este es mi primer post en Serey.io, aunque me registré originalmente hace dos años.  No estoy seguro de por qué nunca volví a escribir un post, pero por fin me he puesto a ello.   Es diferente configurar un post aquí, en comparación con las otras plataformas en las que estoy.   Me llevará un par de publicaciones acostumbrarme a ello.

I have been active on Steemit, Hive, and Blurt, starting with Steemit in 2017.   I developed a large Spanish speaking following over the years, so I am used to including a Spanish translation in my publications.   I have a Discord community on Discord (R2cornell).   I am not sure how many of my members or followers on the other platforms are also here on Serey, but I will write my posts in both Spanish and English here on Serey as well.

He estado activo en Steemit, Hive y Blurt, comenzando con Steemit en 2017.   He desarrollado un gran número de seguidores de habla hispana a lo largo de los años, por lo que suelo incluir una traducción al español en mis publicaciones.   Tengo una comunidad en Discord (R2cornell).   No estoy seguro de cuántos de mis miembros o seguidores en las otras plataformas están también aquí en Serey, pero escribiré mis publicaciones tanto en español como en inglés aquí en Serey también.

In the event you are not familiar with who I am from the other platforms, I have curation projects on the other three platforms.   It has grown considerably since my early days on Steemit.   I have curators working for me on each of the other platforms.  We curate around 1,000 publications per week between the three other platforms.   As I get more familiar with Serey I hope to accomplish a couple of things.  First, I would like to get a curation project started here, and second I would like to establish the r2cornell community here on Serey.   I do need to be familiar with this platform before getting in too deep.   Once I am comfortable here then I can include channels in my Discord Community to begin establishing a curation project.

En el caso de que no estés familiarizado con quién soy por las otras plataformas, tengo proyectos de curación en las otras tres plataformas.   Ha crecido considerablemente desde mis primeros días en Steemit.   Tengo curadores trabajando para mí en cada una de las otras plataformas.  Curamos alrededor de 1.000 publicaciones por semana entre las otras tres plataformas.   A medida que me vaya familiarizando con Serey, espero conseguir un par de cosas.  En primer lugar, me gustaría poner en marcha un proyecto de curación aquí, y en segundo lugar me gustaría establecer la comunidad r2cornell aquí en Serey.   Necesito familiarizarme con esta plataforma antes de meterme de lleno en ella.   Una vez que me sienta cómodo aquí entonces puedo incluir canales en mi comunidad de Discord para comenzar a establecer un proyecto de curación.

I found Steemit in in 2017 and began working on that platform.  I got discouraged and stopped blogging for a few months, and when I came back to it I approached it different than when I started.   I found that many users enjoyed my photographs, of mostly flowers.  So that was my focus of blogging from then on.   I also had issues with those who had enough voting power to help newcomers, but basically ignored them.  I began offering assistance to some newcomers, even though I was still learning.   I eventually started a Discord community at the encouragement of someone.  Not sure who.   The community began to attract newcomers hoping to get their work curated.   It continued to grow as Hive came into existence and later Blurt.  Members now are from various stages of experience.   Some have been members of the community for quite a while.  Ultimately I see the role of the r2cornell community on Discord to help others.   This is in the form of curating their work or providing advice on improving their work.   Those that help we with the project are from 6 different countries, (5 countries which have limited economic opportunities for their citizens).

Encontré Steemit en 2017 y comencé a trabajar en esa plataforma.  Me desanimé y dejé de escribir en el blog durante unos meses, y cuando volví a él lo enfoqué de forma diferente a cuando empecé.   Descubrí que muchos usuarios disfrutaban de mis fotografías, de flores principalmente.  Así que a partir de entonces me centré en los blogs.   También tuve problemas con quienes tenían suficiente poder de voto para ayudar a los recién llegados, pero básicamente los ignoraban.  Empecé a ofrecer ayuda a algunos recién llegados, aunque todavía estaba aprendiendo.   Finalmente inicié una comunidad de Discord alentada por alguien.  No estoy seguro de quién.   La comunidad comenzó a atraer a los recién llegados con la esperanza de que su trabajo fuera comisariado.   Siguió creciendo con la creación de Hive y, posteriormente, de Blurt.  Los miembros de la comunidad son de diferentes niveles de experiencia.   Algunos son miembros de la comunidad desde hace bastante tiempo.  En última instancia, considero que el papel de la comunidad r2cornell en Discord es ayudar a los demás.   Esto es en la forma de curar su trabajo o proporcionar consejos para mejorar su trabajo.   Los que nos ayudan con el proyecto son de 6 países diferentes, (5 países que tienen oportunidades económicas limitadas para sus ciudadanos).

I have a tendency of writing a lot of narrative when the words flow.   Doing an Introduction Post at this stage of my participation with blogging tends to lead a lot of information to convey.  I will try and save some for future publications.  I am not asked too often anymore about why I do the curation projects, but from time to time it comes up.   My career was focused in the helping professions, with the last forty years working mostly as a rehabilitation counselor.   My specialty was in evaluated disabled people to find career paths.   In other words what did they have potential to do for work, in spite of being disabled.   This helping nature led me to doing what i could to help others on the various blogging platforms, and now here to Serey.   I will leave it at that and answer any questions in comments or private messages on Discord (not to exclude answering questions in the general chat channel in my Discord Community.  Instead I will share some photography.

Tengo la tendencia de escribir mucha narrativa cuando las palabras fluyen.   Hacer un post de introducción en esta etapa de mi participación con el blogging tiende a llevar mucha información para transmitir.  Intentaré dejar algo para futuras publicaciones.  Ya no me preguntan muy a menudo por qué hago los proyectos de curación, pero de vez en cuando surge.   Mi carrera se centró en las profesiones de ayuda, y los últimos cuarenta años trabajé sobre todo como consejero de rehabilitación.   Mi especialidad era evaluar a las personas discapacitadas para que encontraran trayectorias profesionales.   En otras palabras, qué potencial tenían para trabajar, a pesar de ser discapacitados.   Esta naturaleza de ayuda me llevó a hacer lo que podía para ayudar a otros en las diversas plataformas de blogs, y ahora aquí a Serey.   Lo dejaré así y responderé a cualquier pregunta en los comentarios o mensajes privados en Discord (sin excluir la respuesta a preguntas en el canal de chat general en mi Comunidad de Discord.  En su lugar, compartiré algunas fotografías.

The above photograph is of a beautiful pink rose.   Some flowers I raise myself, and others I find at a botanical garden I like to visit.   All photos I share are my own.  Once in awhile I will use one of my daughter's photos (with her permission) and I state in my post if it is hers.

La fotografía de arriba es de una hermosa rosa rosa.   Algunas flores las cultivo yo mismo y otras las encuentro en un jardín botánico que me gusta visitar.   Todas las fotos que comparto son mías.  De vez en cuando utilizaré una de las fotos de mi hija (con su permiso) e indico en mi post si es de ella.

This next flower is a Sunflower that I grew.  They are small sunflowers and can be used for boquets.  I have many of various colors and patterns.

La siguiente flor es un girasol que cultivé.  Son girasoles pequeños y se pueden utilizar para boquets.  Tengo muchos de varios colores y patrones.

My next photograph I believe is a macroview of a Geranium flower.  I may be wrong but the photo was taken a couple of years ago.  I love the shades of pink.

Mi siguiente fotografía creo que es una vista macro de una flor de geranio.  Puede que me equivoque pero la foto fue tomada hace un par de años.  Me encantan los tonos de rosa.

I will close with a photo of a sunrise out my front door.   I trust some will enjoy this beauty, and the symbolism of my first post on Serey.io

It is going to take me some time to get used of setting up a post here on Serey.   I have used the preview but still not sure what it will look like published.  On my next post i will experiment with the size of the photographs.   Each time I will experiment with some of the other aspects of formatting a post.

I normally use a Canon EOS Rebel T5 for most photographs, except where noted. I do take some photographs with my Samsung Note 9 smart phone and include them from time to time. The only editing I do on my photographs is some cropping to center the photo, or to bring it closer to the viewer.

Normalmente utilizo una Canon EOS Rebel T5 para la mayoría de las fotografías, excepto cuando se indica. También tomo algunas fotografías con mi teléfono inteligente Samsung Note 9 y las incluyo de vez en cuando. La única edición que hago en mis fotografías es algún recorte para centrar la foto, o para acercarla al espectador.
