According to the landowners of Surulia, the gas pipeline should be taken through the area. But it does not mean taking over the farmland. The pipeline can be taken through the area adjacent to the pond or uncultivable land.
When asked about this, Purulia District Magistrate Rahul Majumder avoided. He said, "Ask the district land department official about the matter." Additional District Magistrate (Land and Land Reforms) Rajesh Rathore of Purulia did not want to comment.
