Sweden's consular authority said in a statement, "In response to media reports of a suspected rape in Stockholm, consuls are confirming that a complaint has been filed with the police."

Swedish evening newspaper Expressen yesterday identified Mbappe as a suspect, citing an unnamed source. Aftobladet reported today that they have also received information about Mbappé being a suspected criminal in the incident.
Expressen reported that Mbappe is "reasonably suspected" of rape and sexual assault. According to Swedish law, this category is two steps below direct suspicion.
News agency AFP contacted Mbappé on the matter yesterday. Those close to the star who won the 2018 World Cup for France have informed that they know nothing about the legal charges against Mbappe.
