The average IQ of 'lazy' people is higher than that of physically active people.
A recent study found that people who like to lie down, sit and spend idle time have a strong connection with high intelligence. They do not get 'bored' easily. Therefore, they do not feel the need to engage themselves in various activities in search of 'excitement'. Instead, he likes to spend time thinking quietly. Uses the brain more. They mainly like to think of solutions to various problems by spending idle time lying down and sitting.
People who engage themselves in physical activities such as walking around, hanging out, partying, clubbing, or physical work in professional life—have relatively low intelligence. They get bored easily. They engage themselves in various activities, because spending time doing nothing is boring for them. They always want to do something. Another reason they engage in various physical activities is to stay away from problems.
Professor of Psychology Department of Florida Gulf Coast University. A team led by Todd McElroy conducted the research. This study was conducted on a total of 60 members of two teams of 30 each. One group is called 'Thinker', another group is called 'Non-Thinker'.
How physically active members of these two groups were was measured by wearing a special smartwatch-like tracker. Those who were physically active, and those who spent idle time—the researchers found some special characteristics between these two groups.
After the research was published in the 'Journal of Health Psychology', there was a worldwide response. This has been recognized as a very significant study.
But Dr. Todd McIlroy also said, "You're lazy, that means you're smart—not to say that." But it is clear that those who are less physically active, like to spend idle time, are more likely to have higher IQ. Although they are not very interested in physical activities, they do what is necessary to maintain good health. Dr. Todd McElroy presented the research and said, 'Those who are not very interested in physical work, in most cases, use the brain more. And those who do more physical work, they keep the brain less active.
But an interesting thing is that those who love to be lazy, they mostly choose people who love to be physically active as life partners. That is, thinkers prefer non-thinkers as partners. However, no explanation is given in this study.
