🐯 Sumatran Tiger 🐅

Looking at the picture, of course you already know who is in this picture, the tiger, or he is often dubbed the "Sumatran Tiger". Tigers are very well known for their distinctive features which are very well known, namely the colors and lines on their bodies. In Latin the tiger referred to as "Panthera tigris sumatrae" is one of the five tiger subspecies (Panthera tigris) in the world that still survive. Sumatran tigers are a rare species, which is also the only tiger sub-spisies that Indonesia still has after two Balinese tigers (Panthera tigris balica) and a Javan tiger (Panthera tigris sondaica) are declared extinct. But these Sumatran tigers are still preserved and protected by the government.  The experts or historical researchers who are members of a team say that, tigers are believed to be descendants of ancient predator animals known as Miacids. (Book: Origins of ancient animals) Miacids lived at the end of the Cretaceous era about 70-65 million years ago during the age of dinosaurs in West Asia (Andrew Kitchener, "The Natural History of Wild Cats"). Tigers then developed in eastern Asia in China and Siberia before splitting in two, one of which moved towards the Central Asian forest in the west and southwest into the Caspian tiger. But there are also those who still live in their place of origin. So it is not surprising that many Sumatran tigers are found in Asia.  Then the Sumatran tiger continues to move towards Central Asia towards the western mountains, and so on to Southeast Asia and the Indonesian archipelago such as the island of Sumatra including Aceh, some of them continue to move west to India (Hemmer, 1987). However, it is very regrettable that its existence in the forests of Sumatra is getting smaller and feared to be extinct, since Aceh was struck by prolonged conflict, and some of it also moved to very deep and far forests.  The tiger contained in this post is a tiger who is breastfeeding his child. This photo was taken about a few years ago when I visited the Indonesian Ragunan Animal Park located on the Indonesian island of Java. This tiger is being cared for in the garden after giving birth. He has one female child. Maybe now this cub has become an adult. So is a little review of the Sumatran tiger. And thank you very much.
